Echo Local was organized by Paul Lloyd Sargent as part of Gallery 400's At The Edge: Innovative Art in Chicago 2004-2005 series. Presented as a group show of sound-based artists using unique methods of documenting and mapping geographical space, the exhibition featured the first public presentation of Sargent's Representative Sample and five pieces by artists whose own projects and ideas had greatly influenced Sargent's recent work.
